This is a great craft to do with children for Cinco de Mayo and to celebrate Mexican heritage.
Materials:
- Red Plastic Cup
- Red Paper Plate
- White
- Green Pompom
- Scissors
- Glue
- White String
- Tape
Directions:
- Put glue on the rim of the cup.
- Turn the cup upside down and place it in the center of the plate. Push hard to secure it in place.
- Cut out small circles from the white piece of paper.
- Glue the circles on the outer part of the plate, leaving space in between for the pompoms.
- Glue the pompoms on the outer part of the plate, in between the circles.
- Tape one side of the string to the bottom side of the plate.
- Put the “sombrero” on top of your child’s head and bring the string around his or her neck to the other bottom side of the plate.
- Cut the string at the end.
- Tape the end of the string to the bottom side of the plate.
