I did this activity at my daycare after I read “One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish,” by Dr. Seuss. I really like it, because it doubles as a craft and an activity.
Materials:
- 4 White Index Cards
- Construction Paper (Green, Yellow, Red, and Blue)
- Markers
- Scissors
- Glue
Directions:
- With the scissors and construction paper, have your child cut out one green fish, two yellow fish, one red fish, and one blue fish.
- Using a green marker, write “1 Fish” on one index card.
- Using a yellow marker, have your child write “2 Fish” on the second index card.
- Using a red marker, write “Red Fish” on the third index card.
- Using a blue marker, write “Blue Fish” on the fourth index card.
- Glue the colored fish(es) onto the index card with the corresponding colored writing.
