To say that I am a huge Disney buff is an understatement.  I often call my two daughters “princesses” and I buy them all the Disney princess toys and clothes they ask for (and don’t ask for), because 1.) they are great kids, 2.) I love spoiling them, and 3.) I’m a sucker for anything Disney.  I’ve noticed that on a lot of princess merchandise, the words “Daddy’s Little Princess” are very common.  Unless it is custom made, you will hardly ever find anything that says “Mommy’s...

Happy Friends Day! Have you ever thought about what it would be like to be friends with celebrities?  I have!  Actually, I have a group of them already picked our in my head.  Just like men pick out football players in Fantasy Football, I pick out celebrities in what I call Fantasy Friendships.  Here’s who I’d pick to be my BFFs and why: Ellen DeGeneres – 58 year old comedian and actress.  Is she really that old?  She definitely doesn’t look it or act like it.  Hands down, Ellen is my absolute favorite...

I had the honor of attending Mouse-Con’s 1st Annual Disneyana Fan Convention in Concord, California and it was absolutely amazing! I got to meet great Disney legends, such as Margaret Kerry, the original reference model for Tinker Bell. I also learned interesting facts about Disneyland that even a huge Disney fanatic like me didn’t know and I picked up some great Disney finds that had me totally Disney-geeking out, like a teapot that actually looked like Mrs. Pots! So adorable! What was surprisingly really fun to be a part...

Over the past six years, I have taken my children to many amusement parks.  Whether it was Disneyland, Legoland, or SeaWorld, I realized that they all have something in common and it is probably not what you think: They are a lot like parenthood. They are loud. For starters, the noise level is pretty excruciating. Amusement parks are filled with loud and obnoxious kiddie rides, games, and people (Squealing teenage girls are the worst), just as children’s toys are. Toys seem to have two volume levels: Loud and painfully loud. I am this...
